Residences - A home for life for women with special needs
The Beit David home for life encompasses seven houses in the Maoz Zion neighborhood of Mevaseret Zion. Each one is an independent unit in terms of daily management, therapeutic activities, leisure culture and maintaining a shared family life in the community.
The apartments are attractively furnished, with gardens and welcoming kitchens, where fresh food is cooked under the guidance of a dietician.
With a focus on the unique characteristics and needs of each individual, we provide support, guidance and care that includes animal therapy, art therapy, therapeutic gardening, walking on a treadmill, etc. We see great importance in developing new approaches and changes that will improve our residents’ quality of life.
All activity is carried out under the supervision of a diverse, multidisciplinary team that includes specialists in nursing, medicine, health professions, psychosocial and individual welfare, employment, education and advancement. The residents are supervised 24/7, all year round, including Shabbatot and holidays.
We strive to help each resident reach maximum functional independence in daily life, according to their capability. The women participate in all aspects of keeping house: preparing meals, setting and clearing the table, doing laundry, making beds, and more. In addition, they have a say in choosing their clothing, and even go shopping for clothing with a counselor. The residents pray each morning, make brachot and recite birkat hamazon after each meal.
Beit David residents are active participants in the local community. They attend the neighborhood synagogue on Shabbat, are hosted by local families for meals, sell plants from the Beit David nursery in the mall and in educational settings, exchange mishloach manot on Purim and establish social relationships with neighbors.
The residence observes Shabbat and the highest levels of kashruth.
